Outstanding Young Artist Competition

Due to a lack of funding, The Friends of Music of Bethlehem have placed a hiatus for this program for the 2025 - 2026 Season. Help fund us for another 100 years! (Winds, Strings, Percussion, Organ, Piano, and Voice)
Application Period: Closed due to Hiatus for the 2025 – 2026 Season. Please consider auditioning in our 2026 – 2027 Season.
Recital Date: There will be no Spring Recital due to this program being in Hiatus.
Location: West Side Moravian Church, 402 3rd Ave, Bethlehem, PA 18018

The Outstanding Young Artist competition is open to instrumental and vocal students through 12th Grade. Students must attend school in the Lehigh Valley. The audition video should demonstrate a range of technical skills, rhythmic ability, and virtuostic tone, in works from standard classical repertoire. First Place winner receives $800;  A Rising Star (a student who has been studying only a few years) may be recognized as a promising young artist and awarded $75. First place winner will perform 15- to 20-minute recital to receive their monetary award. The Rising Star will perform one piece of music at the recital to receive their monetary award.

*Decision to select a First Place and/or Rising Star winner, is at the discretion of the judges.*

Recital will be held live at West Side Moravian Church in Bethlehem, PA. Recital is free and open to the public. Goodwill donations greatly appreciated.
